Sound performance at the opening night of the Mexican edition of the 16th International Media Art Festival CYFEST: Archive of Feelings. A Journey, at the Centro de Cultura Digital on 4 September 2025, in a programme with Gustavo Matamoros and José Hernández Sánchez.
The improvisation sets a mechanical-digital installation, a fixed presence in the exhibition space, against a live human performance. The installation's sound is programmed and deterministic; the human performance is spontaneous and reactive. Between them a hybrid sonic dialogue emerges that blurs the line between autonomy and intervention.
The installation, shown in the exhibition, is a sound work for piano that reimagines the instrument as a historical symbol and an object in transformation, joining the acoustic tradition with digital modernity.
