Harlequin

This sound installation is composed of two cassette players located opposite each other, which are connected through an audiotape that, when moving, recreates a sound like an inherent result of this traction. In turn, this conductive step formed by the tape represents a trapezoid, analog support that enables balance and the constant movement of the harlequin that circulates suspended between these bands.

The harlequin designed for this piece was conceived as a light body, with the aesthetics of its rhomboid and colorful representation being faithful to the mythical notion of this emblematic character. Finally, the projector traces on the wall only an extract of the path traveled by the harlequin, outlining its moving image accompanied by the rhythm of the sound constantly present in the installation.
