A sound installation in which I build sound masses with mobile robots that move through the room. The robots travel slowly along programmed paths, stop, turn and return to their docks while playing recordings, so that the sound moves and changes with the machines.
The work was part of the group exhibition Cuando levanto una roca encuentro universos. Misivas de la materia (When I Lift a Rock I Find Universes. Missives of Matter), shown at UAM's Galería Metropolitana (Medellín 28, colonia Roma, Mexico City) in September and October 2023 with artists from UAM Lerma. The show explored what material objects can do in space and the meanings they produce through electronic and computational technologies, starting from the idea that matter is not destroyed but transformed.
